One of the main focus points in the CRJ cockpit is the avionics system. Six tube style displays make up the main avionics displays in the CRJ cockpit. A center console is located in the middle of the CRJ cockpit, that houses the FMS units, throttle controls, flap controls, radio controls and various switches and buttons for other items. When looking inside the Bombardier CRJ Cockpit you will notice that there are few changes in comparison to it's predecessors. Bombardier wanted to keep all aircraft in the CRJ series very similar, so they continued this pattern with the CRJ cockpit. This system was developed in the s and has been upgraded with some new features to meet some new standards. There are 4 primary flight displays and 2 multifunction displays located in the middle. These are specificity the Collins FMS units. The CRJ flight deck has an overhead panel that has switches and controls for the lights, APU and other components of the aircraft. On the Captain side of the cockpit is a tiller for steering turning the front landing gear.
